FILM FACTORY
Academic Solo Project
Year: 2018
The project aims to bring together the working environment with residential living, blurring the boundary between work and living. The program of the building is a movie production factory, including the filming stage of small movie sets, set design workshops, post-production studio and residential living units.
The building is divided into six interlocking clusters connected by there service cores and a series of stairs. Each cluster includes a set of residential units and production space. This will allow the film team to live and create on-site. These production space extrude out from the building wall into an large opening on the façade, forming stages that are visible from the streets. The ground level is a open area dedicated to public events and exhibitions. A series of stairs and ramps lead the people through the different event spaces, allowing people to engage in the making of the films, creating the sense of party and commune inspired by Andy Warhol’s Factory Living.
